Kelly has dedicated her career to supporting young people who have experienced trauma, working in childcare and education since the age of sixteen. Inspired by the belief of her mentors and her mother, she is passionate about instilling confidence and resilience in young people, particularly those from challenging backgrounds.
Her early career included working as an au pair in Switzerland and supporting primary school students while achieving a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning. She then developed her expertise at a pupil referral unit, working with children facing complex behavioural and emotional needs.
Kelly holds a degree in Counselling and Psychology in Community Settings and currently serves as Deputy Manager at Welcare, where she is committed to advancing safeguarding and therapeutic care. She is also studying towards a Master’s in Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society, with plans to qualify as a registered psychologist by 2026.
Kelly’s long-term goal is to introduce in-house psychological assessments at Welcare for conditions such as autism, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health needs, ensuring continuity and excellence in the support provided to the young people in our care.
